Denny Hamlin Shocking Track Strategy_ As the Daytona 500 approaches, NASCAR enthusiasts got a behind-the-scenes look at driver Denny Hamlin’s life in the fast lane through Netflix’s docuseries “Full Speed.”

Chatting with FOX8’s Kevin Connolly and Danny Harnden along with WFLA’s JB Biunno, drivers shared insights into their preparations for the upcoming race.

Hailing from Chesterfield, Virginia, Hamlin, who drives the No. 11 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing, brings with him 18 full seasons in the NASCAR Cup Series, finishing fifth in the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series for the second consecutive year.

In the recent Netflix series “Full Speed,” which debuted in January, Hamlin and several other drivers took center stage, offering fans a glimpse into their lives on and off the track throughout the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series playoffs.

Reflecting on his portrayal in the series, Hamlin expressed satisfaction, noting that it accurately depicted his life and interactions with fellow drivers.

“I think that how I was portrayed was accurate,” Hamlin shared. “How I see the other drivers that were on there portrayed was how I see them, so I thought that that was very fair in that instance.”

Hamlin, who aimed to provide camera crews with unfiltered access to his life, emphasized the importance of authenticity in showcasing his true self.

“If I only give them 10% of my life, that snippet might not be who I really am, right?” Hamlin remarked. “So if I give them all of it, then now I’m crossing my fingers that they’re going to produce it correctly. Luckily for me, they did, and I thought it was an overall positive for me.”

While the series didn’t always paint the drivers in the most flattering light, Hamlin believes it offered viewers a genuine glimpse into the reality of life behind the wheel.

“You see the highs and lows of it,” Hamlin explained. “You see me trash-talking the fans in one minute. You see the ultimate defeat when we get knocked out after Martinsville and me with my family.”

As Hamlin gears up for the new season, he anticipates adopting a more “selfish” approach on the track, a strategy he believes contributed to his past successes.

“I’m going to have to be more selfish,” Hamlin admitted. “I think that what gave me the results from the previous Daytona 500s was being selfish at times.”

Heading into his 18th Daytona 500, Hamlin eyes his fourth victory, aiming to add to his wins from 2016, 2019, and 2020.
